Flight Inspection Upgrades

The Aerodata Systems FIS provides the capability to accommodate future requirements such as flight inspection procedures dealing with new navigation systems as well as future refinements to present navigation means.

In order to accommodate the expected future expansion, the Aerodata Systems FIS has been engineered to allow for upgrade for future software and related hardware changes to avionics and flight inspection equipment. These expected expansion areas include:

GPS guidance and high precision accuracy for navigation and landing systems
Adaptation to inspection of RNAV/VNAV procedures and approaches
EMI detection capabilities that allow for covering new interference situations
Improvements in Aeordata Systems already versatile Embedded Training System (ETS) that will offer new flight inspection missions and requirements
FIS power distribution growth (circuit breakers, power feed capability, I/O growth)
Space, weight, and power growth potential for future GPS-related equipment
Equipment rack to accommodate standard 19-inch panel mount equipment and allow for easy access to all equipment
Operating system, computer processor and memory upgrades of Sierras originally designed Automatic Data Acquisition and Display System (ADADS)
Internet capability added to Aerodata Systems ADADS unit for purposes of acquisition and processing of data
Acceleration of data transfer speeds utilizing LAN network connection
Increased data uplink / downlink communications capabilities especially in the area of GPS positioning systems
